THE REGION
Chambéry is an Alpine town in southeast France. In the old town is the medieval Castle of the Dukes of Savoy, with historical exhibits. Near Chambéry Cathedral, the 1838 Elephant Fountain honors the 18th-century general Benoît de Boigne.
We are ideally situated close to Chambery in order to be able to acess the mythical mountain passes of the Tour de France, Alpe d’huez, Télégraphe, Iseran, and also close to the lakes of Bourget du lac and Aiguebelette.
If you come accompanied with a non cyclist there are plenty of walks in the area as well as the local markets to visit !
The Musée des Beaux-Arts exhibits include 14th- to 18th-century Italian works. South, the Museum of Charmettes was once home to philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Chambéry is also where Greg Lemond famously won the world Championships in 1989 and where the Tour de France stage finished in 2017.
The headquarters of the Pro Team AG2R s also in Chambery, run by former Tour de France rider Vincent Lavenu and ex teammate of Stephen Roche.
